Bahrain - Formula 1 Race

Well, I finally feel like I can add something exciting to the blog this week!  Dave and I were lucky enough to be given passes for a week ago Friday and Saturday by Batelco (a local internet/phone company) for the Bahrain Formula 1 races.  It was pretty amazing couple days for us.  We started both days with a buffet at one of the local hotels (The Sofitel) and then we headed over to the race track.  On day one we did a 4 x4 drive; which turned out to be a ride in a new Land Rover over their off road training course.  It was absolutely amazing what these cars could do (kind of the theme for the entire weekend).  After watching the practice races we poked around the event and found the free champagne and candy bar.  Day two was more of the same amazingness.  We met a wonderful family from England on our first day, they come to the races every year, so they took us under their wing and showed us the ins and outs of F1 racing.  The Batelco group was great, so friendly and happy to show us around.  We got to do a pit walk of the F1 cars and meet the drivers of the Batelco Grand Prix racing crew.  Enjoy the photos...

Happy 3rd Birthday Max!

This post is more than a little late.  As in it's April and Max's birthday is at the beginning of March.  Oops.  I wish I had a fun excuse for my tardiness, but the kids and I have been feeling poorly for over a month now.  We're pretty much just passing germs from one person to another.  Good times =).
Max opening presents.  He received several fire trucks.  He's all boy, so he was quite excited about his new trucks

Max was pretty pleased with himself for blowing out his candles.  Plus that boy loves himself some cake!

Here are the treats and favors I made for Max's party.  I handmade the monsters.  It was a fun little project and the kids love their new buddies.
