2014 Bahrain Air Show

Dave and I were invited to the Bahrain Air Show this weekend by Batelco (a local internet/phone group).  You all might remember that the same people invited us to the Formula 1 races in April.  Once again it was a blast and they took such great care of us (especially this pregnant mama)!

The aerial show was awesome and we were able to tour several of the aircraft.  Enjoy the photos!

Enjoying the luxury of one of Gulf Air's private jets.  If anyone has an extra 70$ Million lying around and wants to buy me a birthday gift... this airplane is for sale!

Dave enjoyed himself as well.

These guys were amazing!

Dave was slightly more interested in work emails... no rest for the wicked.

I know it's sappy, but I love this guy!

A friend of ours was the pilot for DHL; the guys were super impressed with what the huge jet could do.

The First Class Bar on Emirates A380!

One of the first class seats on the Emirates A380. One of these seats is about $8000.  It might be worth it, they were seriously comfy.
We had a great day!

Bahrain Fort

We've finally managed to get out exploring in Bahrain.  We intentionally saved much of the outdoor activities we wanted to try until winter time as summer is just too hot to spend any amount of time outdoors.

We'd already been to the Fort once for our family photos, but we didn't get much of an opportunity to explore in our previous visit.  This time we loaded up the kids and hit the museum first.  The museum is nicely laid out and a pretty quick visit.  It's just long enough for two small children not to get too bored with looking at rocks and pottery.  There were some skulls in the museum that offered a nice distraction for our fascinated kids.

Overall it was a fun outing, but we're glad we waited until winter to tackle it!

Sophie Turns Six (almost)

Happy Early Birthday Sophia!!!  I can't believe Sophie is turning six in just a couple days!  We celebrated her birthday with some wonderful friends today and we all had a blast!  We had the party at the British Club and they did a fantastic job with the food and bounce house (plus they clean up afterwards).
Princess Tiana cake baked by our friend Stacey

Cattails and water lilies

Sophie loved her cake!

We had a henna artist at the party... Sophie and all the girls loved having henna done.

Waiting their turn...

Sophie had a wonderful time!  Thanks to all our friends who made it a great party!

Bahrain Fort Family Photos

Dave, the kids, and I headed to the Bahrain Fort about a month ago for our annual family photos (that we haven't had done in about two years).  An amazing local photographer Summer Weeks met us and took some beautiful photos.  We were super happy with how they turned out and here's a small selection of the photos she took.

J'aime la France

I'm bound and determined to get at least a portion of the hundreds of photos we took on our summer vacation on this blog!

Our third stop on our cruise was Marseille, France.  However we didn't stay in Marseille but took a tour with the cruise ship to Aix En Provence.  It was a lot of fun poking around the little town and we were able to stop in a sweet little open air market and bring back some small souvenirs.

On this same night was one of the two formal dinners on our cruise ship, Legend of the Seas.  The kids enjoyed dressing up and I'll have to admit I really enjoyed it as well.  Dave looked dapper as usual (he cleans up nice).
